Copy of Rare Online Video: Watch Simon & Garfunkel on Canadian TV show Let’s Sing Out, 1966
Canada’s answer to the U.S. TV show Hootenanny was it’s own musical TV offering called Let’s Sing Out. It aired from 1963 to 1966 and then was revived briefly in 1968. The show featured contemporary folk musicians and was filmed on location at various Canadian universities.
Back in 1966 the relatively unknown folk duo of Paul Simon & Art Garfunkel dropped by the University of Toronto for a taping of the TV show. Host Oscar Brand predicted a long and successful career for the two. Here’s a video with very good quality footage of Simon & Garfunkel performing several of their early tunes including the 'Richard Cory', 'Sounds of Silence', 'Homeward Bound', 'A Most Peculiar Man' and others. Enjoy!
By the way, you can listen to Simon & Garfunkel’s music, individually and collectively, on Dusty Discs Radio.
