Mick Jagger Asks Eric Burdon to Take ‘Paint it Black’ Because The Stones Didn’t Want It

When Eric Burdon was asked by Mick Jagger to record The Rolling Stones song ‘Paint It Black’ he had no hesitation about doing so. At the time, 1966, the Stones weren’t going to use it themselves and Burdon was singled out by the band as the one who could do it justice.

In this rare audio Burdon from 1966 talks about how it all went down, and we are treated to his version of the iconic song. Enjoy!

You can listen to music from Eric Burdon, The Animals, The Rolling Stones and other artists of the 60s on Dusty Discs Radio
