Queen Rocks Live Aid, 1985
The entire Live Aid event in July of 1985 was groundbreaking, billed as a “global jukebox” and alternating between live performances from Wembley Stadium in London and JFK Stadium in Philadelphia. The biggest stars of the day performed gratis to help raise funds for relief of the ongoing famine in Ethiopia.
Certain performances were head and shoulders above the crowd and the roughly 20 minute set by Queen was arguably the cream of the crop. An edited, but faithful, version of the bands set was recreated for the Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody but here is the entire stellar performance of the real deal. In HD no less. Enjoy!
You can listen to music from Queen and other artists of the 1980’s on Dusty Discs Radio.
