Rare: Paul McCartney Talks About the Release His Solo Album ‘McCartney II’, 1980

After the Beatles break-up Paul McCartney struck out on his own. In 1970 he releases a solo album. ‘McCartney’ before putting together the band Wings. But by 1980 he was back to solo work work with the release of his album ‘McCartney II’.

The album was #1 in the U.K., #3 in the U.S. and received Gold Records in both locations.

That same year British talk show host Tim Rice interviewed Paul about the album. Here is part one of this pretty relaxed and revealing interview with the music icon. If you’re patient part two of the interview will pop up next but, unfortunately, it ends rather abruptly. Enjoy!

You can listen to music from Paul McCartney - solo and with The Beatles - plus other artists of the 60s, 70s & 80s on Dusty Discs Radio.
