Rare Supremes Interview on Canadian TV, 1966

In 1963 CBC TV launched Elwood Glover’s Luncheon Date. Glover was a long-time, well-liked, experienced CBC radio announcer and the show transferred well from radio to TV. In 1966 Glover interviewed the most popular girl group of the day, The Supreme, who were in Toronto for a concert.

Here is a rare, dated video of that interview that begins with Glover setting the awkward tone by snapping a picture of The Supremes “for his daughter”. Most of the questions are interesting and relevant but watch for Glover comment on the various weights of “the girls”. Enjoy!

You can listen to The Supremes and other Motown Artists on Dusty Discs Radio.
