Rare: Top of the Pops episode from 1968
Back in the 1960s Top of the Pops (or TOTP) was one of the most popular shows on British TV for anyone under 30. Each week saw performances from some of that particular week’s best selling pop artists. The show also featured a countdown of the week’s singles chart placements. For those too young to remember (or us non-Brits) this 28 minute episode from Feb. 15th, 1968 will give you a glimpse of what we were missing.
The show features teens dancing to top 10 hits from the likes of Manfred Mann and Herman’s Hermits, to name a few, plus some musical performances from the Foundations, The Status Quo, Brenton Wood and other top acts of the day. Time to join them so get up off the couch…and enjoy!
You can listen to music from Manfred Mann, Herman’s Hermits, The Foundations, Brenton Wood and other artists of the 60s on Dusty Discs Radio.
