Rare TV show footage: The Carpenters on the TV show This Is Your Life

Siblings Karen and Richard Carpenter had a string of hit singles in the 1970s including ‘We’ve Only Just Begun’, ‘For All We Know’, ‘Rainy Days and Mondays’, ‘Yesterday Once More’, and ‘Superstar’. Karen was the singer/drummer and Richard was the keyboard player, arranger and composer. Their career spanned 14 years and produced 10 albums, numerous top ten singles and several TV specials.

In 1971 the duo were showcased on the popular TV series This Is You Life. During the weekly show host Ralph Edwards took guests - famous or not - on a trip down the memory lane of their lives. And he did the same with Karen and Richard complete with surprise guest appearances from folks who strongly influenced the duo in various aspects of their lives. Watch the entire show here.
