The Association perform ‘Along Comes Mary’ on The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour, 1967
During the late 60s The Association had many hits on the Billboard charts and were the opening band at the 1967’s Monterey Pop Festival. Tommy Smothers attended the Monterey Festival and, as a result, several of the artists who performed there wound up appearing on the hit and controversial TV show he shared with his brother - The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour. The Association was one of those bands.
Here they are on an episode of the TV show that aired in 1967 performing ‘Along Comes Mary’, a tune that reached #7 on the Billboard charts. Unfortunately the video itself is a bit blurry and the audio is definitely not HD, but it’s a fabulous look at the unique and gifted “sunshine band” that hailed from California. Enjoy!
You can listen to all tunes from The Association and other artists from the 60s on Dusty Discs Radio.
