The Turtles TV Performance of ‘Happy Together’, 1967

In February of 1967 the Turtles released the single ‘Happy Together’ which eventually booted The Beatles ‘Penny Lane’ out of the #1 slot on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart and stayed put for three weeks. The song reached #2 here in Canada.

Here’s a TV spot of The Turtles performing the song, goofing around, lip-syncing and pretending to play their instruments. Howard Kaylan “sings” lead vocals on the song and gets some help from bandmate Mark Volman. Dig those sixties threads, man, and enjoy!
