This Michael Jackson #1 Hit Was A Song For His Mom
In late January, 1988 Michael Jackson reached #1 on the billboard charts with a song that was a response to his mom’s request for a “shuffling, rhythm” song. It was released in late 1987 but didn’t hit Billboard’s #1 spot until early the following year. That song was ‘The Way You Make Me Feel’.
The music video for the song was actually a short film designed to show off a flirty but edgy side of Michael. It is a continuation of his exploration and expansion of the music video as an art form. Here is that video - which was also nominated for an MTV Music Video Award for Best Choreography. Enjoy!
